Shopping

Shopping is in Tywyn ( 4 miles away) where there is a good selection of shops including both Spa and Co-op supermarkets.

 There is also an open air market every Monday during the summer season.

Restaurants

Under new ownership since Easter 2007, we can thoroughly  recommend the restaurant at Dolgoch Falls Hotel (no driving to get there!). They offer evening meals April to October and Sunday lunches throughout the year. (Booking advisable).

"The Railway" at Abergynolwyn (2 miles inland) serves excellent pub meals and Tywyn has several restaurants together with Chinese, Indian, Kebab and Fish & Chips takaways.

Churches

There are churches of all main Christian denominations in Tywyn.

For a really warm welcome, can we recommend Tywyn Baptist Church on the High Street in Tywyn. Services at 10.30am and 6.30pm every Sunday. (Click here to link to their website)

Pubs

We would suggest visiting Abergynolwyn, Tal-y-Llyn or Aberdyfi (Aberdovey). (But please do NOT drink and drive – apart from the obvious risks, the local constabulary are very vigilant on this point).

Leisure Centre

The leisure centre in Tywyn also has an indoor swimming pool.

Doctors

Tywyn provides both a Health Centre and Hospital 

The Health Centre is situated on Pier Road in Tywyn (100 yards beyond the railway bridge on the left).

The hospital is situated on the Aberdyfi Road. (on the left as you leave Tywyn heading towards Aberdyfi)

It does NOT have an Accident & Emergencies department.

Dentists

There are Dental Practices in Tywyn and Machynlleth.
